Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the product and billing.

Security & Code

Will the translation break my code (%s variables or HTML)?

No, absolutely not. This is our core strength. Our intelligent parsing engine locks technical syntax (like %s, %1$s, {name}) and HTML tags ('<strong>, <br>') before translation. The AI only processes the text content, ensuring your site won't crash when you upload the result.

Do you support very large .po files?

Yes. We use 'Smart Batching' technology to handle large files (e.g., WooCommerce) that would crash other tools. We split, process, and merge them back perfectly.

Is my data safe?

Your files are processed securely and never used to train AI models. Files are automatically deleted from our servers after 30 days (Free) or 90 days (Pro / Lifetime).

Quality & Languages

How is this better than Google Translate?

We use advanced Large Language Models (LLM) that understand context. For example, it knows if the word 'Post' refers to a blog entry or mailing a letter based on the surrounding text, delivering human-like accuracy.

Which languages do you support?

We currently support 40 languages including English, Turkish, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Korean, Arabic, Dutch, Polish, Ukrainian, Czech, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Hungarian, Romanian, Greek, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malay, Hindi, Bengali, Hebrew, Slovak, Bulgarian, Croatian, Serbian, Norwegian Bokmål, Persian, Catalan, Lithuanian, Latvian, Slovenian, and Estonian.

I need a language that isn't listed.

We are constantly adding new languages. Please email us at hello@simplepotranslate.com with your request, and we will prioritize adding it.

What happens if a translation fails mid-process?

Your file won't be lost. Our system automatically retries failed chunks up to 3 times. If the job still fails, you'll see a clear error message on your dashboard and can retry with one click. No usage quota is consumed for failed translations.

Usage & Integration

How do I use the translated file in WordPress?

Simply download your translated .po (and .mo) files and upload them to your site via FTP (usually to `/wp-content/languages/themes/`) or import them using a plugin like 'Loco Translate'.

Do I need to install a plugin?

It's optional. SimplePoTranslate works as a cloud-based tool — just upload and download. But if you prefer, our free WordPress plugin lets you scan, translate, and import files directly from your WP admin panel.

What output file formats do you support?

Free plan users receive a ZIP with .po and .mo files — both are needed to deploy translations in WordPress. Pro and Lifetime users receive a full ZIP containing all formats: .po, .mo (compiled binary), .json (for JavaScript apps), .php (WordPress-compatible l10n), and .xliff (for CAT tools and translation platforms).

What input file formats do you support?

All plans accept .po and .pot (Gettext/WordPress) files. Pro and Lifetime users can also upload .json (i18next / next-intl) and .xliff (XLIFF 1.2, compatible with CAT tools like SDL Trados, memoQ, and OmegaT).

Can I use the WordPress plugin with any theme or plugin?

Yes. The plugin detects all standard WordPress i18n functions (__(), _e(), _n(), _x(), esc_html__(), etc.) and works with any WordPress-based theme, plugin, or WooCommerce extension.

What does '250,000 strings per month' mean?

A string is one translatable entry in a .po file — typically a short UI label or message. The 250,000 limit applies to Pro and Lifetime plans. SimplePoTranslate uses weighted counting for very long strings: each string counts as 1 unit by default, but strings that exceed the standard length may consume multiple units to ensure fair usage.

Do I need an API key to use the WordPress plugin?

Only for API mode (auto-translate directly from WP admin). In manual mode you export a .pot file, upload it to SimplePoTranslate yourself, and download the result — no API key required.

How do I update translations after a plugin update?

Re-scan your plugin after the update. New or changed strings are detected automatically. Re-translate and replace your existing language files.

Billing & Plans

Do you offer refunds?

No, we do not offer refunds. We provide a generous Free Tier so you can test the quality and compatibility before paying. Since we incur AI costs immediately, all sales are final. You can, however, cancel your subscription anytime.

Is the Lifetime deal really a one-time payment?

Yes! You pay once and get access to Pro features forever. No monthly fees.

When does my monthly quota reset?

Your quota resets on your account anniversary date each month. For example, if you signed up on March 15, your quota resets on the 15th of every month. For months without that day (e.g., February), it resets on the last day of the month.

What's the difference between Pro and Lifetime?

Both plans share the same translation limits: 100 files and 250,000 strings per month. The difference is payment — Pro is $19/month (or $190/year), while Lifetime is a one-time $399 payment with no recurring fees. Lifetime also includes priority support and up to 5 API keys (vs. 1 for Pro).

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard in one click. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. No cancellation fees.

Is my payment information secure?

All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified provider. We never store or see your card details.
